garett brennan
True to his role as a poet of the times, Garett sings songs that question and attack the root structure of a country off track. But his sweet spot is offering a slice of the finer things: the beauty of fresh snow on the mountain, afternoons with a younger brother, scratchy conversations with young and old citizens of the world. He is a sharp observer of the human condition.
Garett can often be found playing around the Northwest with musicians Tony Furtado, Scott Law, Jon Neufeld, Teddy Presberg, Will Amend, Eben Dickinson, Lewi Longmire, Jim Brunberg, and Jesse Withers. Garett's full band, the EBGBs can boogie when it's time to boogie, but they're also incredibly talented in accompanying Garett's ballads and folk work in more theatre-like settings.
The group successfully blends two uniquely American sounds: front porch foot stomp and deviant lean-to stand-up jazz. They have the capacity to play festival stages, and when they do, the place moves, but when the whole night is theirs', the evening evolves from intimate poetry to contagious groove.
